Has anyone in the Institute or society called your employer or references??
No, I’m pretty sure they don’t do that.
They only send emails to references and contact your HR department to verify job description.
I’ve heard of some people calling former employers. Calling current employers would not be cool though.
I don’t understand . . . how do they contact your HR since that wasn’t even one of the fields they asked for in your application? It would be a major headache for them to look up past companies of every candidate to call. I just really doubt they do that, except maybe in unique cases where the local society will ask you to provide more information.
I’ve had multiple references contacted multiple times. they even called my professional references when I volunteered lol.
