Have CFA exams or charter helped you? If so, how?

^I like these last two posts by Ghibli.

Yes, just because my parents didn’t buy my way into HBS or didn’t secure me a job at Goldman doesn’t make them bad parents. Certainly no reason to despise them.

And to those who say, “I hate my parents. They bought me a piece of shit BMW 740iL instead of the Maserati I’ve had my eye on”…grow the fuck up.

And the question wasn’t even directed toward u so who "stinks of a snot nosed punk?

Oh, I had lots of bonus thankfully. Nothing impressive here.

Thanks for answering the question Greenman, all I wanted to know. The reason I asked was cuz I myself am working on my relationship with the moms.

+1

If we filter out the rambling, he is saying:

  1. Some parents are below average.

  2. However, we should not “despise” people just because they are bad at parenting.

Fair enough… Just because your dad sucks doesn’t mean we should hate him, particularly if he tried.

However, ghibli also says:

  1. We can despise parents who are abusive, such as child porn people.

So, parents with bad intentions are despisable. In other words, it is the good intentions of parents that matter, not the measurable effects of parenting.

Alrighty then. I need to prioritize my time better.

To conclude, the CFA exams have helped people realize how crappy their parents are.

Honest to god, laughed out loud. Comic relief I guess. I hear ya and I’m with ya. Literally giving go/no goes on fairly large trades and simultaneously posting on AF today. Something very wrong with my priorities.
