On one hand, he was drunk and in possession of cocaine. On the other hand, the other party was a woman driver. Who is more likely to be at fault? Please discuss.
Tell it to the Judge
wow ohai. im shocked. did not see you as that type of person. very funny though.
this reminds me, there’s a ER sell sider from Canaccord that got a DUI he was fired (2nd DUI + he had his kids in the car). and get this, he was fired from his previous job because if the first DUI
Yeah, always sounds great in theory. Problem is you have rich people who buy really nice cars and want to drive them. Their impaired brain tells them they’re fine, and that only gets stronger as they get more intoxicated. You’re likely to have someone make the correct decision to not drive who is just at the legal limit than someone who is way way beyond it.
Really, the only way you’re ever gonna make any headway in stopping OUIs is by putting those breathalyzers in every car so they can’t be started until you blow clean… but that could never fly because it’s not fair to the responsible drivers. The truly scary thing (and I have no numbers to emphasize this point but the ratio must be ridiculous) is how many people drive under the influence every night without getting caught vs. the ones that do.
Well done to the guy mentioned at the end of the article. Blew 0.29. Going out in style.
Should the penalty for driving while texting be greater than driving at 0.08? Apparently, texting is far more dangerous.
Last stat I saw is one DUI given per 10,000 miles driven over the limit. Sounds about right to me given my personal observation and experience.
