Global depository receipts are most often denominated in:

  1. the currency of the country where they trade and issued outside the United States.
  2. U.S. dollars and issued in the United States.
  3. U.S. dollars and issued outside the United States.

Note that it’s depositary receipts, not depository.

Finance people in general (and the CFA curriculum in particular) tend to get this wrong.

Have you checked the curriculum?

It’s very clear on the answer.
