I’m currently on GARP books and BT and have only gone through foundations of risk and 1/3 of quantitative methods. I’m feeling a little helpless because of BT’s tough questions. Are they really overkill? Will the exam cover what is exacttly in GARP readings? Should I also try Schweser? Thanks
I read from Schweser and solved all questions from Schweser and attempted few questions from BT.
BT questions are difficult if you take questions of 1 or 2 notch/es hight. If you are managing to score 40-45% of total attemp I guess you are doing good. BT mentions the questions are how many notches up or down as per exam. Don’t give up! keep solving BT questions, if possible read from Schweser. Sometimes boons are bitter!
Thanks anand, so you’re saying do not read from GARP? I figured read the curriculum, but it’s not like CFA, no practice problems, etc.
Out of 100, 95 people either recommend Schweser or BT. I have seen very little portion suggesting GARP reading material.
I have no idea about CFA hence could not comment.
GARP’s readings were pretty on the verge of “BAD” for any levels when i took Part 1 (2013) and Part 2 (2015)…
You will find BT hard if you don’t have the math background… but once you understand the concepts, you will see things easier… I kind of like that approach…
Schweser is okay but too wordy imo and some concepts are not depth enough… I used schewser for Part 2… passed marginally but i think i will score better if i used BT…
CFA curriculum is much more well written so can’t really compare…
