Step 1: Find the bar just above the box where you’re typing your post: the one that has “quote” and bold and italics and so on.
Step 2: At the right end of the icons in that bar, find the six-toothed gear/sprocket icon.
Step 3: Click on that six-toothed gear/sprocket icon. A drop-down menu will appear with three items in it.
Step 4: At the bottom of that drop-down menu, click on Build Poll.
Step 5: Select what type of poll you want. Start with Single Choice until you get the hang of it.
Step 6: Select how you want the results to be displayed. Always visible is a good choice.
Step 7: Select who can participate (“Allowed groups”). As a newby, choose trust_level_0.
Step 8: Choose a chart type: Bar or Pie.
Step 9: Type in the answer choices, one per line.
Step 10: Click on Insert Poll
Voilà!
