Hey Johnh from South Africa...

…how’d you make out, man?

HI DOW, sadly between work and gettimg married I have had to postpone this exam to November . Still learing where I can from Schweser but it would appear based on your latest comments they do not equip you well enough. Did you do all the BT questions in conjunction with the schweser material ?

Oh, well, congrats on getting married! Nah, in retrospect I didn’t nearly spend enough time with BT since they were late getting a bunch of the material out – GARP was late with the new AIMs this year. Anybody taking Part 2 in November will not have that issue though. I can tell you that the BT-type questions were light-years closer to the actual test than Schweser. God forbid I have to retake, I will go exclusively BT.

Good luck to you.

Would you say the best approach is to use schweser notes and then supplement with BT questions ? I. Good luck with the results , I have a good feeling you will make it . especially with the amount of effort you seem to have put in. If I recall you and I were very doubtful after part 1 and that worked out ok

Well, I would say (if you remember my complaints about Schweser from last time around) that I felt even worse, ex-post the exam, about the Schweser notes for this level than I did for the previous level. Having said that, I feel that Schweser is good for getting the “base” knowledge quickly, but when it comes time to practice questions, that’s where I’m left high and dry.

My error was in timing after learning the base from Schweser. I thought, well, I did this for Part 1 and I was ok. I wouldn’t say I got lazy, I just ran out of time. So what I would have done is to seriously block out more time to do exclusively BT questions toward the end. I’m telling you, the question bank for Part 2’s coverage of actual question types found on the exam was atrocious this time for Schweser.

I actually in the last couple of days only started looking at the BT questions in detail, and then I got very nervous with only 48 hours to go, because the questions looked alien to me compared to the Schweser Q-Bank. And don’t you know it, the style and material covered on the actual test, I’m serious, was ridiculously close to BT, as if they could have been the same author.
