How encompassing are TT?

I haven’t made it through all of them yet, I’m coming up to around 20% of them done. I’ve heard they’re considered to be much tougher than what you’d expect to see on the exam. I was thinking of switching my review to focus solely on TT and review the stuff I don’t get that frequently comes up. I guess this question is more directed to people who have written before, or have heard from people who have, but how encompassing are the TT? If I do them all and thoroughly understand them should there be any significant material not covered?

I found that after doing EOC Qs and then doing TT there was a lot of stuff that wasn’t covered. I’ve never used TT before so I don’t know if they’re designed to cover the whole topic, or just important parts or what. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The TT won’t cover everything (obviously), but you will definitely get a “taste” of where you need to study more. Some are really hard but I have to say that I learned a lot by doing the TT. Just go over all of them, and try to understand the logic behind each problem.

The more problems you do, the more prepared you will be for the exam. You need to get used to seeing the same problem thrown at you in different ways; who knows what we will get on the exam.

TT’s are a slap on the wrist for skipping/forgetting stuff buried in the curriculum. E.g., Altman Z Score for FRA. Or all the qualitative definitions for CF (veil of ignorance).

i dont know how TT represent the exam, for example, just did all PM TT yesterday, there were nearly no calculation at all. A lot of ppl struggle with the formulas in PM, but the calculations in TT are so easy, its the concept questions that are hard.

And in derivatives TT, they keep asking you about bear spread, bear call spread, i dont think bear spread is a very important thing in derivatives (compare to other things), but at least 2 out of 5 TT ask u to do bear spread.

I just did PM TT yesterday and found it too easy… the mocks are harder. and at least one topic completely missed out

i just dont know what to do with PM lol, there is no proper EOC questions in schweser notes, no proper item set in schweser mocks, no proper TT in CFAI, or, for PM its meant to be like this? seems like so many formulas in the notes are not used at all.

yes some of the topic is not covered in TT for example the CDS, so is it possible TT is based on previous year LOS?
