After passing level 1 in Dec (and after I had already signed up for level 2) I got a job in the industry and so I decided to stop studying for level 2 as I didn’t want to start work distracted and potentially hurt my career. Now I am having second thoughts. I took the past month or so off and before that had only read about 75% of the Schweser books (did not retain much, if anything). I haven’t done any of the CFAI EOC questions yet and pretty much feel like I have everything to learn. If I were to try and pick up where I left off am I insanely behind everyone else? Do you guys think I am completely out of touch to think I may stand a chance at passing now? I figure at most I could do 3 hours during each week day and 12 hours over the weekend, for a total of 27 hours a week max.
You must have registered already so might as well.
i am at 280 hr. I feel like i need another 280. I get it all, just gota retain
As infinity said, you have nothing to loose. You never know.
here’s what you do, and I’m only recommending it cuz I would love to see someone do this. walk in 5 minutes late. quickly bubble in the scantron sheet at random. Yell out “BOOYAH!” as loud as you can. With authority, jump off your chair, and grab the paper like a pimp. Walk confidently to the front, slam your paper on the procter’s desk, pop your collar, throw on some shades, and strut on out of there. then for the afternoon session, repeat. There is a small chance that it could actually get you a pass, and you’d hold 2 records; candidate with the fastest L2 exam completion time in history, and candidate with the douchiest behavior ever seen in an exam. see you on D-day (i’m taking in toronto too)

If he does, it’s probably equivalent to winning a mega ball jackpot.
this depends on your background, how well you did on L1, if you can actually put in that much time, etc. it has been done and I think that if you go in and just focus on the CFAI EOC and how to actually solve problems, you can pass. theory wise you have read Schweser so maybe that will help. if you are not 100% committed then just forget it and spare yourself 200 hours.

If you passed in December, and took the past month off - how did you read through 75% of the schweser books in 30 days? Were you just unemployed the entire time? If you actually read through most of the schweser all you have to do is just start doing the practice tests and you’ll be fine
“If you actually read through most of the schweser all you have to do is just start doing the practice tests and you’ll be fine” humm, well i read all of Schweser, and all of CFAI, and I did some solving… so according to you I am DONE ! Are you a Level III candidate, or is this just an assumption?
To the OP - I am more behind, having read only 25% or so of Schweser and nothing else due to a busy work schedule. I have thought about giving up and saving myself the remaining hours, but with 60 days left, I believe it’s still doable. It all depends on how much you can retain after giving Schweser one read-through and then spend the rest of the time doing reviews and practice questions. If you are behind, give it four hours a day instead of three, and give it 16 hours over the weekends instead of 12. Give up social life until game day and you will just be fine.
", and give it 16 hours over the weekends " i will worship the guy who can do that for level one, when i was doing 12 hours a day, i thought i was Rocky
at 12 hours a day, you’re day dreaming for at least 4 of them. I think diminishing returns on each hour started to kick my ass after about only the 3rd straight one with no break.
You have 59 days to make it happen. Figure out a study schedule and crank through it. It’s a very very hard test but it’s still just a test.

I really don’t remember much of what I read. When I attempt the CFAI EOC q’s I basically have to look at the solutions as I go to help me along answering the question.

Nice reading comprehension - you seemed to have missed the practice test part of my comment. After you finish reading everything, what’re you gonna do - jerk off to it? No shit the next step would be doing practice questions.
Go for it, I havnt done much yet either, but I still feel confident going forward, even though I still have a pile of work to do, since you have paid and signed up to it, then give it all your best. It will start to hit you once you review, just try not to panic or think about all the work you have to do.

yup, you are right, doing diff things makes it more bearable… i do 8 everyday my friend, it becomes easy.
here’s my weekend routine: 11 am, give or take - wake up, have breakfast & coffee, chill wit gf for an hour and a half, try to convince her to do me. 12:30 - start studying, do that for about 2 and a half hours, maybe have a snack in here somewhere 3 pm - go to gym 4 pm - lunch 5 pm - study for like 3 hours 8 pm - dinner 9 pm - study for like 2 hours 11 pm - it’s miller time there’s a solid 7 hours of good solid study, as well as a balanced day.
