*real finance job. I’ve been looking for a little while and it sucks. Discuss.
what is your definition of a “Real” finance job
Mine took about 1 month when i graduated in 07.
5 months. worked as a day trader while i applied to show that i actually wanted to be surrounded by such a wonderful market.
If you cant find job now, i suggest you to go straight to graduate school…
my university career services dept told me on average it takes 3-6 months for a college graduate to find his first job
I suspect those averages are from time periods unrepresentative of the current situation. But it’s still useful as a baseline for comparison.
most people i went to college with had a job lined up by the mid-point of their senior year.
i got my job while i was still in school as well.
Everyone I knew, myself included, landed a job offer(s) while still in college. I talked to director of the program I finished, and this year 66% of graduating class had a job prior to graduation in December. We did have an excellent career services office though.
