I just had my 5th break-up while studying for CFA. After every exam, I had a break up.
How many break-ups did you had?
I just had my 5th break-up while studying for CFA. After every exam, I had a break up.
How many break-ups did you had?
I got divorced while studying for Level I…can’t say that’s the CFA’s fault though. Having to go to the courthouse the day before the exam was a great way to relax.
Broke up with another girl while studying for Level II…CFA did play a hand in that one.
Current girl stuck with me through Level III, so I guess I’m hitting 1/3 on that front.
Married with three kids throughout the process. A bit of a strain, but I told them in January to pretend that I didn’t exist for five months. They honored that.
Fifteen years since my Level III exam, and still married to the same (fabulous) woman.
why do you have break -ups after exam? ideally it should be when ur engrossed in your books and you have no time for the girl. after exam you would have chilled out with the girl right
Married with a one year old. Last year for level II my baby was born 5 days before the exam. I studied at the hospital and I held my baby in my arms while studying after we got home. Thankfully I passed.
My wife doesn’t really mind. She goes to bed early usually at 9 so I got to study from 9 to 12 for level 3. She did feel a little neglected in the week prior to the exam but we got through it!
Almost broke up…first time I had a gf I actually liked while studying. For level 1 I had a gf but it was nearing the end and I didnt care much to spend time with her. Level 2 I had just moved to Boston and had no friends or gf, perfect study environment. This year for level 3 my gf was very supportative leaving me alone during the week and understanding we had limited weekend time, mainly in May…it got to her though around the last 2 weeks. I also started a new job at the end of April so that was cray.
I had breakup a month before exam, I also left my job at that time just to focus on this exam. I don’t know if I will pass or not. It was my first attempt… Things didnt turn out the way I wanted from last couple of month. These days I am searching for work and rebulding myself. I’m 27 so I feel its not all over, I can still buld myself up.
Cheers and good luck to all
need to tell the gf to take a walk if she can’t handle the studying
Breakups to makeups that’s all we do.
Bahahahahahaha this is too funny LOL
+1
I met my girl because she was impressed that I am taking CFA exams.
Same lady all the way through:
Girlfriend for level 1
Fiance for level 2
wife for level 3.
Congrats - any broad that will endure three CFA exams is wife material. My fiancee is totally supportive, and even takes on the domestic chores in April/May. She also tolerates my impatience and bad days late in the study process and brushes it off as she’s come to expect it. She’s been tested and has earned her rock!
Awesome , congrats u both
My girl friend understands my situation so i am lucky man although she couldn’t control her feelings from time to time. I always had my facetime on (distant relationship) while I was studying and talking to her from time to timeg. Everytime when I felt she wasn’t happy, I would give up studying and focus on talking to her.
After I came back to work, I spent time talking to her until very late in the night and I then continued my studying. Towards the very last two months, she became more understanding and I was able to focus more on studying.
It was hard time for sure but luckily my girl friend is fabulous and we love each other so much.
Broke up with my girlfriend of a year on Monday.
There were certainly some warning signs prior, and my studies aren’t the sole reason for the break up, but it’s interesting timing nonetheless.
Guys you should talk your girlfriends into starting the program, too.
They would understand then.
Maybe there wouldn’t be that many complaints on “why there aren’t good looking girls at the exams?”
:-))
Finished MBA 2 years ago, GF was pleased I’d have more time for her. I told her I was considering CFA immediately for Dec 12 and she said go for it. Just took L3 and still with the same lovely lady, with minor arguments about neglect here and there.
