How many EOC Q's are there?

Does anybody know off the top of their head how many EOC q’s there are in the whole curriculum? I was thinking 68 x 30 on avg. for about 2,000. Just curious for planning purposes. Much thanks

…still counting. I’ll get back to you.

Actually did count real quick… I foolishly forgot that not all readings include questions. Approximately only 41 readings have EOC questions. By my count there are approximately 958 questions (disclaimer-it was a very quick count). All questions are vastly different and may have many parts but for arguments sake, if a questions average time to complete is 4 minutes it would take you about 64 hours to complete! So for someone like me who has only completed stalla questions to date. It would take 40 minutes a day, every day until June 5th to finish them all. Certainly a wake up call for me. Hope it helps others.

Your analysis is flawed and will likely not add any value to you study plans therefore you can not reject null hypothosis … some EOC can take a few seconds others a few minutes (others I skip and go onto the next.) . Best advice I can give is to start banging them out. Begin with the core topics FRA, Equity Valuation, Derivatives, Ethics. These topics are quite meaty and you should spend most of your time here. I would say on average each EOC questions take me on average 1 to 1.5 hours…

you mean each chapter’s questions right ? Each question CANNOT take more than 4/5 minutes tops , because its either you know it ( or can work it out ) , or you don’t and therefore going back into the material to read again. I’d say some of the Equity related chapters should take no more than 30 minutes tops. Questions – 958 Chapters with questions – How many of those are there ?

I am spending my time more wisely. Some EOC questions can take 20 minutes just for part A, B and you’ll still have part C, D left.

is it recommended to do ALL EOC questions, or just the ones in multiple choice form? there are some that are very wordy, ask you to draw diagrams, etc. can these be left out or at least can the asnwer just be looked at rather than spending the time on it (which may be time not that well spent) thanks.

In Equity there is one EOC q that asks you to do a regression of returns of 4 stocks on changes in 2 factors . I bet that won’t come in the exam. It would be a snap to do it in Excel using LINEST or in R , but I don’t think a BAII Plus calculator is capable of doing regressions

Does anyone know if all EOC’s are written by the CFAI? For example: In Quant, Reading 18 (Solnik & McLeavey) has EOC’s. Are these questions written by Solnik & McLeavey for their own text, or did the CFAI just reprint the questions as well as the text?
