How much do Risk Managers really get paid in senior positions

Robert Walters says in US, it’s 300-600k for Directors/SVPs and 600k-1.5mm for MDs in Market Risk. Is this a trustworthy number? http://www.robertwalters.com/en-us/employment-trends/salary-survey.do Somehow looks like in other countries, the numbers are much lower for same roles. Also, what do you guys think of the future of Risk Management, will Volcker Rule and Basel III coming into place dampen the critical importance of Risk Managers given the rule will take care of a chunk of major risks?

you writing a book Columbus? Kiss my ass and make it a love story

Are you a risk manager?

I think many banks will continue to use their own risk models in addition to Basel III. In my opinion, risk management will continue to grow in importance.

‘risk management’ is a fairly large umbrella. please be more specific.

Market Risk Management - Rates. Bulge Bracket.

That is still very unspecific…

mama says, what Robert Walters says, is the devil!

Bulge Bracket i think this is a believeable range simply because the size of the portfolios are huge. you need to realize that the bb prob has over 10k employees and to be one of the 3-7 guys is very competitve. not many people would be considered for these roles.
