At the top of the page, next to your name, but make sure it’s in big bold letters with oversized helvetica font: Eric K. Evin, C.F.A. LEVEL I

you guys are so funny!!! LMAO.

I would write… “Eric K. Evin, CFA First Class” because it takes the value of being a Level 1 Candidate, which is really nil, to a super high level. Willy

you shouldnt. people will laugh. you might want to say that you are pursuing the cfa charter. The only difference between a level one candidate (for say… the december exam) and my mom is that my mom hasnt spent the $600 to register. I would always tell potential employers that I was studying for the exam though.

For real, just write preparing for Level 1 of the CFA or Level 1 CFA Candidate in the skills section.

First Class too funny. Thanks Dummy opps Willy

erickevin72, Think about it this way, what has a lvl 1 candidate accomplished? The answer is nothing and that’s why many people believe that it is a waste of space on the resume. Some people argue that it indicates interest in financial markets, but I often compare it to, “I applied to Harvard”.

Finally some compelling answers, Hard to believe we are highly educated … well some of us are

maybe a little mention at the bottom. nothing to brag about.

Try “CFA Level I Candidate aka Best Candidate EVER!!!”

I like the “C.F.A.” (vs. “CFA”) - nice. Got an email from our head office today on the appointment of a new CIO - the release actually said “He is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)…” 2 violations in 6 words. Nice.

Storko, C.F.a. LEVEL 2, has superior skills solely based on the fact he is in the Certified Financial Analyst program, and is expecting to receive his charter in three years.

I think the best advice is to not mention it on your resume and just bring it up during the interview. I guarantee you that your L1 candidacy will not be the differentiating factor when securing an interview and I guarantee you that your interviewers (if they aren’t HR) will make snarky comments to each other about the accomplishment of your Mom sending in the $600 registration.

I usually just send my resume, and then on another piece of paper I just put “CFA” in block letters, landscape format, taking up the entire page.

lol

" Some people argue that it indicates interest in financial markets, but I often compare it to, “I applied to Harvard”." I’m thinking about applying to Harvard in the fall, do you think I should write the GMAT before or after applying?
