How to crack FSA

Non-finance background. Had only one reading of FSA - that’s even too quick one. Guys, tell me how to master this, I am hesitant to start it and defering it since begining of month. I like in Asia AND cant travel for John harris class. Anyone help?

Appologies for two posts - my laptop -

just use schweser and solve problems. video might help to grasp the key concepts.

suck it up and read it. you cannot do more than that. there is no question if you like it or not. you need to master it on d-day.

get an masters in accounting!

I think you need to realise now that you cannot pass without doing well on FSA. The most difficult thing to do now is to allow yourself time to master this without panic. Allow yourself 2 weeks atleast to fully understand and practice the entire Q bank and CFAI end of chapter questions. Understand and realise that you will not feel comfortable on FSA untill you do atleast 300 questions and be mentally prepared for that. Atleast three passes are necessary to my mind. I flunked last time because of FSA and I know this is the biggest reason why people fail level 2. I am an engineer too and from a non accounting and non finance background. This material cannot be mastered at the last moment at all and the time to do it is NOW.

Jaspreet: Thanx. How many hrs u think would be sufficient for FSA and Equity? From this point on, I would be distributing my time in FSA and Equity only? I presume I will devote 120 hrs in next two weeks. That would be sufficient for both…actually i am in panic mode right now.

As I said 30 percent of the exam comes from FSA. Allowing 2 weeks to yourself out of 8 remaining won’t be a bad idea at all. There would be many rounds of gaining and losing confidence on SS 5 and 6 and they should be dealt with separately as projects by themselves. Around 800 questions on Q bank and a hundred odd in CFA text will take you atleast 30 hours to do and review. You can do enough if you can spend 120 hours in two weeks and you have enough time. Don’t forget to read the material after every bout of questions on q bank.
