How to find invesement jobs in Singapore?

Hi, I started working 6 months ago in the Operation department of a MNC bank in Singapore and this is my first job. I graduated last year with a Computer science degree from a well-known uni in Singapore. Being a level 3 CFA candidate now (passed level 1 in Dec 06 and level 2 in Jun 07- both with first try) but I dont have any investment related experience so far. I also finished the FRM exam this year but still pending for result. I’m currently looking for opportunities in investment research or risk management. Wondering if anyone in Singapore could introduce such jobs to me. It is also great if anyone can suggest or advise on how to get an investment job in Singapore providing my situation. Thx.

Hi UKW You are a lucky guy to atleast step into banking :stuck_out_tongue: me still trying out my luck being a level 2 candidate…

with UBS now being “rescued” by GIC, more people will get lucky… just think about the potential “invisible” strategic strings attached in this deal.

tsech, i sincerely hope so, i applied to GIC before but not even get a chance to break into the associate programme(not even an interview) using only level 2 candidate qualification… But as always… it is based on meritocracy… my colleague who don’t have prior experience in finance managed to get into local bank as market risk analyst…but he is good as he got first class honour from reputable local U…

isin’t every uni in singapore well known considering there are only 3? what’s the market like in sgp now? i heard it is really hot esp with operations and product control…

Actually can only consider 2 is famous… NTU and NUS the job market is definitely hot in SG now, but yet only for those who are experienced…:frowning:
