I am in the investment industry in Boston and am going nuts thinking on networking with research analyst, brokers etc. I am about 2 years in this field and know going forward need “friends” in the industry. How do I develop “friends”? I try to enroll in the networking events, but end up with older people and mostly in the business development sphere…I need to hook up with people who can discuss ideas, stocks, economy etc. Pls give me pointers if you have any… thanks a ton

Volunteering at the local cfa society would be a good way to get acquainted with people.
