How to Start Studying / preparation

Hi all

i got the books just recently. I will be appearing for Dec exams.

i work 9 am - 8 pm. and Mon - Sat .Only free on Sundays.

After coming from work, it feels like a daunting task to take the books. I have the ICFAI ones.

and looking at the size of the books makes me lost.

I am still skimming through the topics and havnt got into that study mindset yet.

So basically how to PROPERLY start studying. How do you guys make study strategy/plan. Where to start and which topics to focus. does every line from the CFAI books need to be studied. How to know which ones are the important topics ? Any additional books apart from the institutes one you would ike to recommend. Is it too early to worry about the exams?

Any suggestion/opinion/criticism is welcome

The proper way to start studying is straightforward: open a book and start reading.

The order of the study sessions isn’t random, so you cannot go wrong by reading the study sessions in numerical order.

The topics on which to focus will depend on your background. FRA is the single biggest topic at Level I, followed by Ethics, then Quant and Fixed Income. If you aren’t particularly strong in these areas (e.g., you don’t have an accounting background), then you want to spend additional time on them.

Here are a couple of articles I’ve written that may be of use:

that was very helpful. thanks much

My pleasure.

you have plenty of time. Get schweser. skip ethics. start with quant and follow the sequence. pay attention to topic weights like s2000 says .
