I was just wondering how you guys and girls are using the secret sauce book. are you just blocking off a bunch of time to read it cover to cover? are you using it to lookup specific stuff you’re having problems with, etc? I have it, but I’m not sure what I should be doing with it. I’m tended to just block off one day and read it cover to cover (if that’s possible in one full day). your thoughts are appreciated
when i used it for 2, i just read an hour a night for a couple nights starting right about now. that said, i found it pretty useless.
i personally like it…read it cover 2 cover a couple times.
I thought the secret sauce was pretty helpful. You can read it in a few hours IMO. Yet, it summarizes most of the lists that you need to know. Plus, it help summarize/organize everything. It was a good resource for me.
this is far too late either way… but how does secret sauce compare to just printing out and binding reading summaries from schweser (maybe CFA) and the formula sheets at the end of each book???
I like the concept of it, but for whatever reason it takes me forever to read it. No way I can read it cover to cover in a day.
thanks for the input although this is probably way too much information, after 5 minutes of consideration I’ve decided to just keep it in the bathroom. between now and june 6 i should probably be able to get through it, and then on june 7 i can throw it out and replace it again with my giant stack of partially-read new yorker magazines.
1 - read a Study Session from the Sauce as a refresher 2 - plow through 50 to 100 Q-Bank questions on that SS 3 - review weak areas identified in more depth from texts 4 - repeat I love the Sauce. Putting it on everything these days!
The sauce was better when they used to put a picture of a tabasco-like bottle on the front. That’s what they did when I bought it for level 1 3 years ago. Anyway, I just use it to refresh my mind on certain study sessions I haven’t reviewed or done questions on for a few days.
sfmatt, i agree. takes me days to read that thing. usually average about 3 minutes per page b/c my eyes glaze after a bit…so 250 pages…yeah

Putting it on everything these > days! Very similar to how I have been using it the last few weeks. 1. read a SS from Secret Sauce 2. Do questions (Qbank, Schweser, CFA EOC) 3. Review Weak areas 4. Next SS
