In addition to “not going through the pain of taking it again” (Ofcourse… that is given) For me- Not much…I do belong to finance but not investment management or i-banking. I am not even sure if my experience will be counted. I keep wondering how this 2 1/2 yrs of pain will add value…in addition to just growing my knowledge base (Which is good).
It won’t change mine at all. Don’t know if my current exp will count anway, and planning to go back to school in sept. HOpefully if i pass it will start affecting my job in a few years…
I don’t think the CFA alone will change anyone’s life, but its the fact you’ve done this coupled with everything else in your career that matters. I for one have been getting a lot more interviews because of my participation in the program. Does that translate into my dream job, not yet but I think once this market comes back it certainly will help you differentiate from other job candidates.
Pretty sure my situation will go from workin the fry counter at Mickey-Ds to living life like a rap video.
Well I want to ultimately become a portfolio manager so the CFA is critical for me. We’ll see if the CFAI thinks I’m worthy this year but I know I’m an asset to the CFAI and the sooner they realize this, the better off they will be!
for me… i’m having a baby in october, and thinking of having another one a year after. So right now all it does just getting my mind off CFA for a couple of years. My husband on the other hand, is looking to use his CFA and FRM to start looking for jobs, whether he finds a suitable and profitable one is a different story.
haha FRM…thats next on my to do list!
