How will you celebrate if you pass L3 and are done forever? What will you do if you fail?
Just curious what others have planned either way. My birthday is on August 5th - I should probably do something regardless and not wait for the results.
For me, either way, there will be lots of drinking involved…
Breathing a huge sigh of relief and moving on with my life. This program has occupied me for 4 years now. My wife, friends, family and employer all want me back.
Hi, chaddy. I’m asking out of curiousity. How long have you worked before going back to business school? Also, what school is that, if you don’t mind asking. I’m also planning to go back to B school, so, I’m trying to find out the experience of others.
First of all, if it wasn’t clear, by having the charter I wouldn’t have to actually take ‘Level 4’. My quote got bundled in with the other guy’s with the confidence. I will have worked for 4 years (so graduated in '08), which seems to be close to the minimum for that school. A few people worked for only 3 (although most of them seem to be women, hmm). Feel free to message me if you want any advice or tips or whatnot on applying to business schools. It’s a big dance, but there’s a right way to do it.
I agree with this. I don’t think my wife could take me doing another test. This exam process really affects all areas of your life; personal and professional. I actually had a professor who blamed the CFA for his divorce. He was joking but I sensed there might be some truth to what he was saying.
If I pass it will more of a relief than celebration…need to be done with it and move on with life…if i dont get through then i will it probably take me a month before i can recollect my strength & motivation to study again
My wife is certainly done with all of this noise. I would at least have to sit out a year, which would likely mean shutting it down. At any rate, it is a conversation I do not want to have.
Hey chaddy, congrats on your admission to Wharton. I didn’t see the option to send you a message, but I do have a few questions. Shoot me a PM with your e-mail address when you have a chance.
My wife supported me all the way with CFA and it is largely because of the motivation she gave me that I came so far. You only learn who’s been swimming naked when the tide goes out. Should be quite obvious we’re not doing the CFA because of boredom. A good partner with a bit brain abd empathy should figure that out.
Chaddy, thanks for the information. I appreciate your help. Also, congratulations, it’s a big success to get into Wharton, especially if you start there with CFA designation. I’m also thinking a lot about Wharton, would like to apply after 2 or 3 years. To be honest, I already did MA in accounting from a public univ. in USA. I don’t know how that would impact my admission chance. It’s been a year since I’ve been out of school and currently working in Russia (but I’m not from Russia, working here as expat). Does Wharton care where or which company you worked? Do they have preference? Currently, I’m working in a manufacturing company as controller/internal auditor.
I would appreciate if you e-mail me so that I would ask more detailed questions. I would appreciate it a lot, not easy to come by prospective Wharton students (babekmemmedov@yahoo.com)
