Yes on a L3 forum and yes after the exam is over. My calculator’s decimal symbol somehow changed from a period to a comma and the ,000 separator is now a period instead of a comma. I dunno how this happened but its annoying as hell and I want the normal way back. Anyone?
turn calc off. hold down the decimal point key ( . ) turn calc on.
It’s not working…how long to hold it down? I tried up to a minute and it’s not changing
you don’t have to hold long at all… are you holding the . button while you press the on button?
It should do it automatically - you have to make sure you are pressing on the “.” when you turn it on. It should toggle between 0.0000 and 0,0000 each time you do it.
Ahhh, I wasn’t holding the “.” button while turning on! Problem solved, can always count on AF!!! Thanks!
*cough* TI *cough*
hi any HP12C expert! help needed! not sure what did i press, now my HP12C got a ALG at the bottom…how to get it off? check the manual and cant find anything also…thanks
I hope you are not joking. f RPN should bring you back to the reverse polish notation mode from the ALGebraic calculation mode
I see…so the RPN will be there under normal use (this is new HP12C platinum). and when i check the old hp12c noticed there is no such function (ie ALG or RPN) hence the confusion. thanks
Reset to factory settings: when HP12C is OFF, 1.Press and hold [ON] 2.Press and hold [-] 3 Release [ON] 4 Release [-] factory set complete Check all electrical circuitry is working properly (takes like 3 minutes) HP12C is OFF, 1.Press and hold [ON] 2.Press and hold [+] 3 Release [ON] 4 Release [+] If all the lCD screen is filled, then 12C is working.
wow! thanks…certainly learn something useful today! appreciate it!

Interesting. I didn’t know this before.
