Im assuming we wont be asked questions regarding calcs using random z and t table values. Given that we all have pretty much memorized the critical values for two tailed tests ( 1.65, 1.96 and 2.58) are we also supposed to memorize them for one tailed tests? If we get a question where Ha: B>0 at a 10% sig. level should we memorize to use 1.28? This section is a beast for me and im trying to grind it out these last few days.
yea i think we should…i guess…this is in chebchevs inequality… 1.25 standard deviations frm the mean - 36% 1.50 standard deviations frm the mean- 56% 2 standard deviations frm the mean - 75% 3 standard deviations frm the mean - 89% 4 standard deviations frm the mean - 94% for 1 tailed…10% significance level…1.28, 5%significance level…1.654, 1% significance level…2.33 for 2 tailed …10%significance level…1.654, 5%significance level…1.96, 1%significance level…2.58…
for 1 tailed…10% significance level…1.28, 5%significance level…1.654, 1% significance level…2.33 ^ I always have a difficulty memorizing the values for a 1 tailed test.
guys, try at least to now how to take a quick look at the tables…you never know…memory is not always our friend…
Uptil now I assumed that they’ll provide the part of tables we would need for the questions, except, of course the common ones just mentioned. Am i wrong in assuming so?
