I don’t want my watch to say anything except to tell time. What does my Timex Ironman say? Don’t care. I suppose if you like jewelry, knock yourself out. Where do you keep your $5,000 watch when you are not wearing it? Next to your earings and necklaces?
I have the automatic, so not the real moonwatch.
That thing looks like a transformer toy for kids.

Check out the new Rolex Milgauss line. I had never consider Rolex before because of their I’m-70-and-can’t-see-anymore date lenses. Things changed with the Milgauss and I pulled the trigger last year. Definitely suitable for someone in his 20s or 30s. It’s like ~6K if you find a good dealer. I later sold another watch to avoid the whole 6K+ hit.
^ +1. I really like the Milgauss line, but my favorite <10k Rolex is the Submariner with the and green face. Somewhat limited supply.
Picture this. If this ugly yellow watch didn’t have a Breitling stamp on it, you’d laugh at the idea of buying it for the price.
I haven’t worn a wrist watch in years. That said, I am about to buy one of these:
nice watch, classic

I am actually thinking of selling the Rolex. I’m getting bored of it, and it seems like everyone has one of these. Omega Planet Ocean is on my short list, and also IWC (Porto or Portuguese). Another watch that caught my eye is this “entry level” JLC. I don’t know if I will be willing to take the price jump though, and it’s pretty impossible to find used. Maybe see how my bank account is doing after bonus season… It would be a special treat though.
I wear a beater Seiko for casual events, as it has some sentimental value. If not, I might have gone the 2 nice watch route.
Oh, the other interesting watch lately is the TAG Heuer Carrera with 1887 movement (not the calibre 16). People are saying it’s the revival of the brand, since TAG claims to have designed that movement in house. I don’t think I am interested enough to buy though.
What are you asking for the Rolie? Got any pics?

What model do you have?

I used to have a Timex ski watch with an altimeter in it. Always liked that watch and don’t know what happened to it. Worked pretty well and also had a thermometer good for both the air and the snow temp. Nice big buttons too. Probably didn’t handle the kind of altitudes you’re planning to go though.

nice watch, classic
Talking about the Omega by the way.
Must consider checking on IWC watches at https://www.revolution.watch/category/iwc-schaffhausen/. You would see the specifications and some reviews of the latest watches with this brand.
I lusted after the IWC Portugieser for a few years and when I turned 30 and was on the market for a watch I went to try it on but it didn’t feel right. Just didn’t sit well on my wrist.

This looks like something you pick up on Women’s Street in Hong Kong. The dial is so busy and design so overcompensating.
I was a fan of the Portuguese with blue numerals and gold hands for a while but there’s something about IWC that doesn’t sit right with me, I can’t pinpoint it but like its trying to hard to be something it isn’t.

I’ll add my 2 cents…the watch looks cheap.
