I am just starting to study for the December exam. I already have an Hp 12c but Schweser teaches with the TI. I know how to do some calculations like discounting uneven cash flows and pv and fv on the 12c already. Would it save me significant head ache down the road to go out and buy a TI BAII+ now, or would I easily be able to make do with the hp looking up calculator tutorials on key strokes and calculations I do not yet know through out my studies?
HP 12c user here. It’s actually not much of an issue. I’m studying with Wiley (they also teach with TI examples), if there’s something I don’t know how to do I just google it and usually get the answer within a minute or two.
So in my opinion there wouldn’t be much of a benefit of switching to the TI just because of the examples.
Perfect, thanks for the input, I guess I’ll just stick with the 12c then.
I am a HP user too. This is not a calculator exam, you are tested on concepts.
It’s quite easy to rework the TI examples with your HP, actually it helps you to test your understanding of the concepts.
I went all three levels with the HP. Not a big deal.
I did 12c, learning curve is fine, stick with it
