I was going to do a nighttime study session...

but there was this 2 hour documentry on Harry Truman on PBS. Who knew he used to be a dirt farmer?!?!

I threw a book through my kitchen window this afternoon.

I couldn’t refuse a memorial day bbq get together.

Hey Houston, How are ya. How’s the studying going this year. I thought I’d be around here more than I have been, but all those myths about L3 being a piece of cake…well whoever made those up should get punched in the face. L3 is a beast. It’s unbelievable how qualitative it is. So make sure you get through this year cause I think there’s a decent chance we will be hanging out again next year

Hey BB, You’ve been my motivation and strength though this CFA crap, so don’t turn on me now with all this negativity about you being in L3 next year. I don’t doubt for a min that its tough, but I know you are doing the best you can, and hopefully will only be around next year to answer our questions! Studying this year is a lot harder than it was last year. I was so confident last year about passing L2, where as this year, I don’t have half of that confidence left. Perhaps because some of you guys aren’t around :frowning:

You’re going to be fine. Only two weeks left. Keep going hard to the end. I feel the same about this year compared to last. I’m putting in just as much time, but I don’t thing I’m getting the same results. And don’t forget…last year was my 2nd shot at L2 and I was feeling just like you are now. Keep pluggin away and you will do just fine.

I saw the 2nd half of the Truman documentry last night. I am really inspired by it. Here’s a guy that no one gave a chance to do anything. He was a poor farmer from Missouri. He failed in every business venture he attempted. Never earned a college degree. Prevented from applying to West Point (his dream) due to poor eye sight. Then later he survived the scandal of the Pendergast machine. Was the right man at the right time and was named VP. Won the BIGGEST political upset in US History by defeating Dewey. Went against public opinion and rebuffed a Military Legend in preventing another World War. Had poll numbers lower than Nixon when he left office. Yet is one of our greatest presidents. Just shows that is doesn’t always matter who your father is, what school you went to, or even how intelligent you are. Sometimes hard work and dedication are the highest virtue.

One thing Harry Truman didn’t have to face was the CFAI curve score. If CFAI had curved the election, he very well could have lost. But they would have provided him a general map of the electoral college, rather than specific states to give him an idea of what his strengths and weaknesses were.

There was also a great documentary on the 10th Mountain Division last night and the role they played in WWII. I found it far more exciting than Residual Income
