If I fail this exam...

I think this exam is much more important to me than to many of you. It’s not just a matter of more salary, promotion or even finding a new job to me anymore. Since I quit my job, I decided that if I fail this exam I will go back to Turkey. Do some military action and so on… So the result of this exam will have a HUGE effect on my life or where I will be in say 10 years from now. Interesting isnt it?

Nah. If I fail I will be strapped to a wire mattress and electricuted…

will put myself in your shoes, dude, and motivate myself!!! think we are gonna be fine with we make the best use of the remaining days…

Failing this test means spending 500 more hours next spring reading CFA meterial instead of drinking.

Failing this exam could mean divorce for me!!

if i fail, i am not doing this again. it’s one and done baby, either way. personally, i could not think of a worse use of my time than learning to “hedge mortgage securities for relative value” or reading GIPS. this stuff is pointless.

^HAHA.

Failing last year wasn’t a big deal to me. Sure it sux, but it could be worse. It didn’t affect my career. It just means I had to waste another spring studying. The hardest thing for me was that I could have taken it the previous year when the pass rate was 76%. I do regret that now. I doubt you guys spending 400 hours or so are going to fail. I was clearly unprepared last year, but I probably spent less than 200.

haha you guys have it easy …Pass or FAIL guess what I have to do next … http://www.cfainstitute.org/cipm/curriculum/syllabi.html More freakin GIPS and performance …

why are you taking CIPM?

If I fail I have to hang out here again next Spring…

i got the blessing from the Mrs. for a retake in 2009 but I can’t think like that…

Wow, you 400/500 + guys are amazing. to-date I’ve only spent only 300 and hope to have 340 by 6/7. feel like maaaaybe i’ve got an outside shot. but turkish-dude you definately motivate me. like a few of you, i’m in the same boat. don’t think the girlfriend will hang around if I fail though.

bigwilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > why are you taking CIPM? My boss thinks it will be useful …i think its overkill … Why are we all being so negative …WE WILL ALL PASS …the people that do not pass will be non AF …

Are you in back-office? Or performance measurement Rudeboi? I can’t see hwo it will be beneficial if you’re not, but I guess you should do what your boss says, as long as they are flipping the bill

^ That was the rule for Level I, at Level 3 everyone is motivated to pass this thing whether you’re on AF or not!

UAECFA… i think your theory holds to a point…there are still some out there who just aren’t putting in the time… and that can carry you for 1 and 2… but for L3, they get caught with their pants down…

don’t forget those that think its gonna be a walk in the park b/c thats what they heard so they are only putting in a few weeks of studying.

not back office ( finally managed to get out ) …my role does involve performance though among other things . I work for a university , we manage the pension & endowment plan so we have external managers that manage various asset classes

Manager of Managers. Nice.
