He’s been dreadful at penalties for the past few seasons. Losing 4 big international finals must be tough to take but he’s been quite unlucky.
Retiring from internationals at 29 is pretty standard, especially if it involves travelling between continents. It’s a pretty smart way of prolonging his career. I wouldn’e be surpirsed if he’s coaxed out of retirement for the 2018 world cup though.
yeah just a 2 year break for him. no stupid friendlies etc. IMO he’s got nothing to prove. His career at barca says it all. Then again I am a club over country kind of guy.
