If Peyton had any pride left, he would retire

i would laugh at you today, but I am probably sadder than you.

freaking romo i had big dreams for him this year

Tony Homo was all smiles that he doesn’t have to play for 10 weeks. What a waste

In the past three games, Peyton has had two TD’s and SEVEN intererceptions. I’m sure not all of them are his fault, but…

I think Peyton finishes the season strong, leaning on his defense, then signs a one-day deal with the Colts and retires as the greatest 16-game QB in the history of history.

Women, amiright?6

congrats greenman you finally got something right about football

Peyton Manning is owed $19MM for next season. I know he doesn’t need the money, but I can’t see him walking away from that. Denver will have to cut him for him to retire.

It’s hard to watch him play lately, and even a little sad. It really wasn’t that long ago during that year and a half stretch where Denver was such a juggernaut I would actually scream at my TV when opponents would kick field goals in obvious field goal scenarios because you just knew Manning would get the ball back and drop 7 more on them instantly.

Crazy to see how ineffective the Broncs O is now. What was it, 27 straight possessions without a TD until that Sanders bomb? And that was vs. the Vikings, Raiders and Browns IIRC. Yuck.

But jesus christ they’re 6-0! What a world.

The Broncos run so far this year reminds me a lot of the Tebow led Broncos. Defense making big plays and scoring early. Offense waking up in the last few drives of the game to barely squeak out a victory.

Next up: The 6-0 Packers.

Hard to believe, but it’s only the second time ever that Peyton will face off against A. Rodgers.

To quote Mark Twain, the reports of Peyton Manning’s death have been greatly exaggerated.

his arm still looks like shit

Pop quiz - did Peyton manning have more interceptions or completions yesterday?

A - completions, but just barely. He went 5/20 for 35 yards, and had four interceptions.

edit - His passer rating for the game was 0.0. He joins Eli and Archie on the list of QB’s who have thrown for a zero passer rating.

Just saw a report that says he played the game with a torn plantar fascia. Might explain why there’s no zip on the throws.

I’m willing to bet that we don’t see a Manning vs. Brady #17.

The Chiefs also ruined Ryan Leaf’s life after he went 1/15 for 4 yards and 2 INTs. That also equates to a 0.00 Passer Rating. Ryan never recovered.

Yesterday was on a different level of satisfaction though. That was orgasmic. And on the day he breaks the passing record, then gets booed off the field five minutes later.

^ What a day.

I wonder…if you were John Elway and Gary Kubiak, how would you handle the situation?

Peyton is sucking hard this year. He’s possibly the worst starting QB in the league. Maybe it’s because of injuries, and maybe it’s not.

If Elway/Kubiak think Osweiler gives the team a better chance of winning, should they start Osweiler? Or has Peyton Manning earned the right to decide how his career is going to end? If they weren’t in the playoff hunt, would your answer change?

(This is assuming, of course, that he’s able to play. He might not be able to play because of injuries right now.)

No one is bigger than the team. You go with who you think has the best chance at winning.

So last night was interesting. Osweiler was terrible, Manning came in and threw for like 70 yards to wide open receivers and the Broncos running game just ran all over the hapless Chargers defense. So of course the narrative this morning is… well obviously.

Kubiak said he hasn’t made a decision but you gotta imagine he rolls with Manning, right?

And now Denver has the 1 seed thanks to the Patriots drinking vanilla extract the last two weeks. Oh boy…
