I’m thinking Individual and Institutional portfolio management as I intend to do those readings 2-3 times.

Or possibly behavioural finance to break myself in.

Keen to get some views from current and previous candidates.

Are there any sections where you simply must read the cfai texts?

Ethics: CFA Institute does a consistently good job on Ethics.

I would also read IPS section since there is always one question dedicated to it on the written portion.

I have the Schweser L3 material from a colleague so I’m starting with Equity Portfolio Management while I wait for Schweser 2014 to be sent out.

What I did last year for L2 was order some old Schweser material from Ebay (I think it was 2010) and picked a section that matched the books LOS as closely as possible (Corp Finance). I think I paid like $30 for them on ebay. It was worth the month headstart I got and not having to read CFAI material.

many thanks guys. I can get the 2013 schweser books from a colleague so I’ll make a start on them and maybe run through the IPS CFAI text. when I can finally muster the motivation!
