If you think you will FAIL, write the exam anyways !!!

Disclaimer: This is NOT meant to discourage anyone. I hope whoever is studying does well and passes. But, speaking from experience last year, I know there are a lot of people who know they aren’t going to pass. I was one of them, as I had to go to Japan for 3 months (March-May) or risked losing my job … the hours over there are insane. But I still wrote the exam (I only read 1.5 books) for three reasons: 1) It’s still Multiple Choice (who knows what could happen) 2) The more people that fail means the average score will fall. Since you are graded relative to others, having more people do worse than you compared to do better will improve your chances (I wanted my friends to pass!) 3) Get a feel for the exam So to those who know people who have bailed on studying and aren’t planning to sit for the exam, please convince them too!! Only candidates who sit for both sessions are included in the grading scheme… Back to ICAPM. Cheers

I strongly support that. However, I’m confused why certain people on this site use the term “write” the exam rather than “sit for” or “take” the exam. Is that local to a certain country?

As Ben stiller would say…do it! do it!

I thought that the OP was going to have some crazy ending to his post like “I thought I was going to fail since I only read 1.5 books but somehow ended up passing - so you never know”

haha westibbs. Canadians say write the exam. I live in the US and I always say that and ppl usually point that out.

Also, if you don’t know the answer and have to guess, choose A. We all will have problems on the same problems (more or less), so this way they can only grade us on the easy questions. Better yet, everyone just choose A for all questions and then we all pass.
