IFT really helping for L3

Hi guys,

I have used all different materials across the levels, from Kaplan, to Fitch to IFT. I usually blend a few when I study, but this year I have to say i’ve been super impressed with the IFT videos. Especially the crash course package where he goes over in detail the last 4 years mock exams, question by question.

If you’re feeling a little lost and needs a new angle, it may help you. It may not. It works well for me though.

Rex

Which package did you get and are the IFT Notes for Level III useful? I find it incredibly unproductive to make my own notes and was wondering if theirs would be good.

Thanks.

Yo, I just use their video package which already have PDF notes which you can write around. They have wicked mocks and question banks too - I recommend personally.

Seems like you got the premium package? https://ift.world/product-category/level-3/

Would check it out thanks.

That’s the one. There are various packages though. They all seem pretty reasonable priced

Rex, thanks for the replies. Just wondering, do the videos really speed up your learning?

Normally I study by just reading the textbook. If I have to watch the video + read the textbook it just seems to me like it would take up even more time?

I am pretty pressed for time so was wondering if I could get your thoughts.

Thank you.

Oh and if you have a referral code, please do share it with me. Thanks.

Hey,

Everyone is different but the videos are more then enough. As in you dont need the text book too.

I would reccomend the following:

Pick the topic. Print the lecture slides, then write on them as he goes over it on the video.

Everything you need is on the video, you could easily go onto the EOC questions in the CFA curriculum following a video.

If you are pressed for time, put the video speed up to 1.5x - Arif speaks quite slowly so even on this setting it is still very easy to understand.

Cheers,

Rex

I don’t have any referral code sorry. As I said, I dont have any affiliation with IFT, I am a UK resident. Just thought I would flag IFT up as another good source for revision. Theres’ penty of reviews on IFT on the forums though.

Yep. I used IFT’s crash course last year and it was a great resource. The past AM exam review videos were pure gold. Also, I pulled down the audio for the GIPS summary review video and listened to it during my work commute for the two weeks before the exam. I must have listened to it 7 or 8 times. Since GIPS is mainly rote memorization, the repetition helped me quite a bit.

Good luck rex! One and done it!

I have been using IFT too and have found it pretty useful.

Looks like IFT/Arif is the go to study provider for crash course, especially at this stage of preparation. Mark F. (notwithstanding his high quality) is just too expensive for me and also i will have to fly down.

Have you folks looked at IFT claim below- any comments?? 10.5 hours be suffice…?? wow!

I am confident that the Summary video (about 10.5 hours) will cover more than 80% of what you are likely to see on your exam” – Arif Irfanullah

Jay! Hope you’re well and enjoying study free life. I’m almost there i can TASTE it bro.

I’ve paid for the Basic Plus package and was wondering which IFT resource you guys are using ie notes, videos, quizzes, etc. Have also got Kaplan Schweser and Mark Meldrum so hoping to cut out some duplication if possible.

I am using the IFT videos and supplementing with the curriculum where I need more explanation. IFT follows the curriculum so its easy to keep up.

Are you planning to finish off the videos before hitting exams or you have qbank etc to go? when do you plan to begin the prac qns.

Cheers

I plan to unleash hell on questions from now until exam day. Blunt force repetition SON

LETS DO THIS

as cheeky as it sounds, it sounds like doing the qns and learning the answers has a lot of merit.

Hey,

Are you just watching the lectures and making notes on the slides and straight to EOCs etc or do you read the curriculum after watching the vids and making notes on the slides?

What % of time would you say you allocate to reading the book with the above strategy?

Thanks
