I believe the author of that article also wrote some advises on how to pass CFA exam in 50 days. I think he has some merit on how to pass the exam. Problem is often that you need to concentrate for at least so long to retain things in memory. If you pick up the materials in pieces and take long break in-between study session, it’s going to be a pain to get all the L2 materials inside one’s head by D-Day.
