Investment Marketing Communications Specialist

I was contacted about this position for a large hedge fund. Granted its not what I am actively pursuing, I do enjoy writing. Can anyone offer insight about a job like this and if it is beneficial or not? There is not a sales aspect thank goodness! Position Description The Communications Manager will develop and oversee written Investment Communications for the firm. This individual will have a comprehensive understanding of our multiple investment strategies and will be responsible for effectively and appropriately communicating them to a broad range of audiences, through various communication channels. In addition, this role is responsible for oversight and completion of the RFP (Request for Proposal) process. Responsibilities: Drive firm-wide communication initiatives thru the creation and development of communication collateral, i.e. presentations, recruitment materials, white papers etc. Assist with writing, developing and managing monthly investor commentary. Research and respond to investor specific due-diligence questionnaires/RFP and other inquiries. Create and revise presentation books for existing and new products. Responsible for continuous improvement of the RFP process. Provide support to website content development and other marketing operations needs. Required Experience: A minimum 5 years of marketing communications and investments writing experience preferred. Relevant experience in investment industry or role with a financial focus required. Strong demonstrable oral and written communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Advanced knowledge of financial concepts and terminology. Bachelor degree required, with an MBA preferred.
