I am so glad that those designers in Apple realized that a minority of us don’t like to carry a big screen T.V in our pockets all the time and tuned the size down.I really don’t get the deal with big phones once you pass a certain age and don’t want to spend all your day playing clash of clans and whatnot.Hopefully those android folks will do the same and discount their phones in terms of size.
Yes, smaller phones also bring back one of my favourite passtimes – watching fat people use small phones. Bigger screen phones make the phone to body type more proportionate and thereby less amusing.
I went back to a flip phone recently to break my dependence a bit. But for years what I wanted most was a mini sized iphone (even slightly smaller than the SE with a thinner profile) that was geared towards more utilitarian and less media based users.

Bigger is better for all apps, not just gaming. Reading, netflix, watching pron on while taking a deuce. The usual.
You need two hands to hold a bigger phone IMO, not good for what you say.
I can’t say my life has improved in any way since smart phones have been around. And why do you need a 5 inch smartphone when you have tablets and laptops at home?
I wasn’t implying that. I was saying that smaller is better for the utilitarian user that basically wants it as a phone first and to “get by” with the apps. I realize I’m in an overwhelming minority on this one but I’m just saying that’s what I’d like. Something extremely low profile and there when you need it.
They need to work on a thinner profile and edge to edge screen. Then the SE would be perfect (based on screen dimensions).
This is instantly what I felt like. My GF thinks it looks ridiculous but I always flip it open and shut with panache in public. Texting is pretty rough though.
A bigger phone would be easier to read and would probably help me when I text while driving. Last month, I plowed down seven pedestrians and hit one tree. I am hoping to get that number to 5 people and maybe a squirrel.
Bigger screen is so much better for viewing, I can’t go back to small screens now.
