Is Consulting Relevant Experience for CFA?

Hi Guys,

I graduated undergrad in May of 2022 and have been working as a consultant since September of 2022. My question is two parts:

  1. Does consulting count as relevant experience for the 4,000 hours?
  2. Does consulting count as relevant experience to join a society?

I tried to join CFA Society New York but in the experience tab it mentions that your work must be related to ‘the investment decision making process’, so I am unsure if what I do now counts.

I am a consultant in my firm’s Activism and M&A Solutions team, where we work with activist situations, whether it be corporate defense or fund side advisory. I work a lot around company analysis and some valuation, but obviously it’s not an investing role.
