Is FRM the right one ?

I am a second year hacksaw accounting student ,since I am second year I cannot do CFA ,But can participate in FRM,I was wondering for a complete newbiew to the subjects and with medium math (college algebra )how many hours do you need to prepare for this exam ?The good thing about it is If I get the designation most probably I can find a job in the financial risk department of a firm ,before finishing my bachelors, also I beliebe accounting +risk management is a killer finance combo

That depends on what you want to do.

Focus on your undergrad and get good grades.

If you want to give it a try, why not?

If you decide to take, I suggest taking part 1 exam first. And if you like the part 1 stuffs, then you may consider pursuing your career in risk management after your undergrad.

@Juz4Fun I wouldnt think that I want to pursue a definite career in Risk Management however I am doing it to make up for the lack of quant in CFA.Also You can learn alot by combining CFA+FRM
