Is it safe to skip GIPS entirely ??

I honestly think GIPS is one of the easiest topics on the exam. I’d advise against skipping it since as others have mentioned, spend a few hours reading the chapter and doing the questions and you’ll start to find it pretty routine to get 4 or 5 of the questions right.

Also, GIPS has been an essay topic before, and it’s been a long time since it has so…maybe we’re due?

And maybe the coin remembers that it’s come up heads five times in succession.

I have read this topic yesterday, and started GIPS immediately. I have to say; it is much more digestable than Ethics, and gaining ground on it seems more doable also.

I am using the Schweser Video’s and find these quite a good main guide through the material, and reading the Schweser Notes on the side to verify or cross-check what I just heard.

Bottom line for me; I takes a bit of time because it’s quite some material. But is very doable; And what if it adds an extra 2% to 3% to your mid 60’s score, in exchange for a few hours? If you’re struggling, this can give you a few cheap points.

i’m pressed for time so decided to skip GIPS. i haven’t even started mocks yet - still reviewing and will hit mocks 1-2 days before exam day. maybe if i have time i’ll check out the schweser vids on GIPS but honestly i found their vids kind of pointless - all they do is read off the slides.

GIPS and Ethics are free points.

Study GIPS and Ethics the last day with the minimal amount of time you can spare if you are really pressed for time.
