Hi all, Is it worth pursuing a career in equity research now? How do you see the shape of the industry in next 10 years ? Thanks
could be tough in 10 years, its tough now, but its a lot of fun. depends on what you want. I work at a boutique and we’re glad all the bulgies are getting crushed and laying more people off. The buy side is looking to the smaller shops now
daj, I guess you are an MBA as well. So you have choice to work in other industry as well. where do you work? It is absolutely chaos in London. Write if you can to samsilvaschool@yahoo.co.uk if you can manage. You can see tons of MBA from LBS, INSEAd and other school here along with those who have lost jobs. S

Unfortunately though, the market is replete w/ qualified candidates, all w/ considerable experience and talent. That’s not to say that a job can’t be found, it’s just tough. If your committed to going into equity research, you’ll eventually land a job if you network and interview well…it might just take a while.
