Hello folks, I am studying from schweser, though its nice and concise, i m afraid is that enough? because i seem to be finishing the topics pretty fast…now i m afraid whether this is sufficient or not. shud i look into the cfa material as well? thnks in advance guys
yep
yep as in yes, i shud look into CFA material?? or yep as in yes, schweser is enough ( i hope it’s this option, those huge books are dreading ) thanks nicob

I have definitely seen questions/language in CFAI questions not covered by Schweser questions.
i think do schweser and do cfai eoc questions and do lot of pratice exams, cfai and schweser and you would have a good chance. if you want to dwell into cfai at this stage. it might not be the best route. ihave friends who passed using purely schweser but they didnt nail the exam. some people think you have to do orignal for 100 percnet chance. so in between the two extremes is the schweser plus cfai eoc question. try to master whatever is in schweser and you will be fine. try to be well preapred based on whatever systeem using rather then getiing confused at this stage
lets say there are 2 candidates, one uses orignal books and one schweser. lets say we can measure how well prepared they are using their own system in percentage. if you use schweser and are 90 percent prepared and he uses orignal and is 80 percent prepared you gain 10 percent from better preparation. but he has a 10 percent advantage in having read the orignal books so over all both are equal. so try to be better prepared then the people using orginal books to nullify their advantage. do orginal books eoc to further reduce this advantage.
hey round 2,floyd and jrozario - thanks for your inputs, i think i will go with schweser and cfai EOC questions having a hard time with pension accounting rt nw…phew
Yes Schweser is enough. If you know what is in those books in and out you will pass. I know multiple people who passed level II just using Schweser. The CFAI books are better, but they don’t prepare you to pass as well. If you want to get a 100, memorize every word in the CFA books. If you want to pass, learn the Schweser books cover to cover and do a million problems.
at a min doing the CFA EOC q’s. also understant schweser is very mathematical relative to CFA which is more theoretical. as for q-bank…it’s ok for some sections but on the whole doesn’t really cover it that well.
i’m using stalla i will work stalla to the end and make sure to get credit for the retake (ie do all questions) and then in may focus ONLY on CFAI EOC item sets and mocks
cpa beats cfa which cfai mocks are you talking about and where to get them and how many are they

I am thinking of just browsing through the Summaries at the end of the Schweser chapters. People told me that is more than adequate, coupled with a quick review of the QuickSheet. Nothing more than that. Anyone with me?
jackofalltrades, I m totally with you, i don’ think i can spare time for CFAI material…i studied for level 1 solely from CFAI material, because i had time back then…although schweser material is,i would say, perfectly built from the examination point of view - cfai material is better for deep conceptual learning, per say
CFA material is deep, conceptual and intense… But in the same time Schweser can be finished thrice!!! … So obviously from an exam point of view … and less than 100 days remaining … it will be better to lock the CFAI texts in some far away location…
Go through Schweser and then skim through CFAI texts for areas that may not be included in the Schweser text. Would also use Schweser for topics that you don’t really understand from the Schweser book. EOC questions are key whatever method you may use.
Yes they are enough. Use CFAI texts when you don’t understand a chapter from schweser. If you did poorly on the Qbank for that chapter or didn’t do well on the practice problems, review the CFAI text. Def do the CFAI EOQ. I’m not sure you need to do all of them though as some are just too involved, you’ll see what I mean when you go over these. After your done reading, just do as many quizzes, exams, questions you can get your hands on and review where you are weak.
