hey guys… i just started preparing for the dec exam and reading CFA institute material…
I wanted to know if i can leave the curriculum and just study from the schweser notes. will it be enough? and after completing the notes i can start with the question bank and the mock tests.
Scheser was more than enough for many of us this june and in prior years. Just be sure to get plenty of mocks in during the last month, pay attention to the detailed answers when you’re grading them (this is where i really got the concepts drilled into my head). Good luck.
and approximately how much time would it take me to complete the notes if i devote around 2-3 hrs a day??
i just want to make sure i’m not starting late. i’m a student of commerce background.

Well, there are 67 readings (I believe) for this year’s Level 1 curriculum, if you do 1 reading per day, everyday, you will be done by mid-october. This will leave you approximately 6 weeks of review/practice exams. I focused on covering 1 chapter/reading per day, rather than hours per day.
Reading the schweser notes should be enough but going back to reading some of the wordy but easy to read cirriculum sections does help reinforce concepts.
