Is the real exam harder than the mock?

For Level 1 I found the online mocks harder than the real thing. What do you repeaters think or remember?

well this may be biased but in my opinion the mocks dont have enuff curve balls…i think the final exam is trickier like 2 BOP vignettes not hard iff u prepared but last year everybody was pretty geared up expecting PM …the bottom line is this exam IMO cannot be gamed …big as well as small can be tested

I agree, I got a 70 on both mock sections last year and here I am again. I was counting on doing pretty well in econ and PM since all my practice test scores there were good, but boy was I wrong!

same here were scoring in the low 70s on the mock last year. I think schweser may be a bit more indicative just because i think it is harder than the mocks. On schweser i was scoring 63-73% last year. This year it seems that i have improved my scores for both Schweser and mocks…so hopefully I’ll be in the L3 forum next year.

Is the real exam notorious for throwing in tiny details that mess up your calcs? For instance, on the Stalla mock I recently took, they asked you to comparable P/E’s on actual and forecasted earnings. The calculation part wasn’t difficult, but there was a footnote that mentioned a non-recurring charge that should have been backed out, which threw off my average comps.

1AM: 80% 1PM: 83% 2AM: 73% 2PM: 82% 3AM: 75% 3PM: 72% CFAI Sample 1: 73% Sample 2: 63% Sample 3: 83% Mock 1: 77% Mock 2: 78% Good enough?

Ask me on August 18th.

This is the first year I took the Mock but compared this year Mock to last years real exam the real exam was harder. The BOP payment really threw everybody off but this years mock didn’t throw in any curve balls. So the real exam is about 5-10% harder.

prepare for the worst and hope for the best

what you people talking about? the real one is so hard !? we dont need to scare ourselves at this moment if schweser is a good benchmark, I am fine with it but on schweser, the questions are different style as MOCK, you seldom see very complex calculations on MOCK, it is mainly you know it or you don’t but on schweser, sometimes the calculation just made me want to use Excel, especially on book7 and I double one curve ball set can really kick you out of the game, even with guess, you can hit 2/6 most of the time
