Accounting and Corp Fin are my two biggest weaknesses so I was pleasantly surprised when I looked through CFA level 3 study topics. My strengths are derivatives, fixed income, econ and portfolio management. Will level 3 be relatively easier for me? I hated FRA the most on level 1 and 2.
No accounting, don’t think very much (if any) corp finance.
Maybe there is not classical accounting but I found taxes which is also the kind of accounting. Wherever you go, you can’t avoid accounting and accountants. Sorry.
pleasantly surprised you say? well, in order for me not to violate any professional rules of conduct let me just add… mu wa ahaha ahaha ahhhh ahahahah hahah ha
How can we know ? I’m not used to put “easy” and “CFA exam” in the same paragraph to be honest. However, in lvl III there is also stuff (eg Wealth Management) that you never really saw in the previous two levels, your mastery of those subjects will be a better indicator of your success than the subjects not in the curriculum in my opinion.
^^It should be very funny, maybe even more fun than while preparing L1 and L2. After all, we’ll see who will have the last laugh.
EDIT: sorry dude, I was sure you were talking to me. It’s all just game and we should consider it in such manner. Anyway, wish you a pass on Tuesday.
Taxes and estate planning are the closest thing to accounting but nothing nearly as dreadful as L2. For instance no need to know (or remember) how to calculate a PBO under GAAP or IFRS bullcrap. You do need to calculate the return requirement of a pension fund but it is much more straightforward.
can you guys please just f*** off?
Well that escalated quickly…
Yep, but it is called alternative investments now.
Alternative.
You get it?
