How’s everyone doing mid-week?
Getting crushed. Off to NJ this morning for meetings and all day in CT tomorrow. Never-ending cycle.
Meeting after Meeting after Meeting Why can’t people make their own decisions instead of asking me about every little thing??? Ah while writing this I got another request for a conf call grrrrrrrr
Busy, busy, busy…feel sorry for you lot. I’ve only got one meeting to attend later this afternoon, thankfully I’ve got lunch in between - going to try and drag myself to run around one of Edinburgh’s parks in a bid to stay in shape. All this sitting around in front of a screen all day doesn’t exactly help with the fitness… K
Its “hump day” people, the rest of the week is down hill from here! I’ve just finished SS9 and now moving onwards. I’ve had a checky flick through the pages of up coming readings and I’m glad to see they’re much shorter in length compared to the nasties of FRA and Econ. Starting to relax a bit now (not panicing so much about study) so will hopefully start to spend more time outdoors on the weekend. But just my luck, a HUGE dust storm has covered part of Australia and people are being advised to stay indoors with the windows shut (not kidding). http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26114000-421,00.html
wow that is insane - so you cant go out in that?
People are still walking around, but the air has a faint taste/smell of dirt. I’m sure it’s harmless, but the authorities are being careful and advising people to stay indoors. Our office today switched the buildings aircon system to ‘recycling mode’ so we weren’t taking in air from outside. Just like on an aeroplane :-/
Meetings and more work to do this week than I can complete in 2. I think the quantity/quality scale is about to tilt more than I’d prefer.

Just like on an aeroplane :-/ yeah everyone is talking about it here - it’s plastered all over the UK/Irish news…yes nothing happens here we talk about all your countries instead!!
^I second that. Weren’t there reports of ‘mud-rain’ falling too? It’ll be the cats and dogs next… How long do they reckon the dust storm will take to subside? Side note: I’m just back from running and I’m absolutely buzzing lol! Would recommend it to anyone to brighten up their day! K
I’m jealous that you’re in Edinburgh. I would love to live there.
^yep, it’s not a bad place, with beautiful countryside a hour or so away by car. However, the weather can be dreadful at times, rains quite a bit- though this past week hasn’t had any rain. Plus, the tram works are in full swing, drives me crazy. The roads are in an appalling state, pot holes everywhere. I’m just trying my best to put up with it… K

At least you can listen to that amazing accent all the time
Weather, not much different, no…can’t wait until proper winter arrives - pack the snowboard and hit the slopes. Last winter had pretty good snowfall in Scotland, I had a few days up in the highlands getting my fix The euro’s strength relative to £ makes it terribly expensive to go back to France again (:…sob sob…la france me manque beaucoup… Accent - yep it can be nice, though with some folks it’s hard to understand… K
date with sister’s friend from college. should be interesting.
I wish I was busy. I have no real work after 9 am becuase my employers are’nt good at Excel. Since I am good in Excel I finish the reports in the first 1.5 hours of being here. Thus why you see an increase of useage on AF after 930 for me.
^ I hear you, just do some stock market research…that ought to pass the time constructively…failing that, google sports cars or something…could be dangerous though, you may actually go for a test drive in one…then there’s no turning back…you’ll buy the beauty… lol K
Going for a team lunch as my contract is getting over this month end. Apart from that - It’s filling up timesheets, ramping up the knowledge transfer, documentation, etc…
This week has taught me how many imbeciles work in the financial industry … I just had an FA/broker call me before they went into a meeting to ask the difference between time-weighted and money-weighted returns … seriously!!!
Speaking of meetings and conferences and all this good stuff. How much would you pay (as a finance professional) to listen to a speech by Sarah Palin ? $5 ? $500 ?
