I interviewed with a firm in SoCal last summer. Made the big mistake of overemphasizing my need to get the hell out of Dodge. I made the mistake with the hiring manager and repeated it when my HR contact followed up with me. Needless to say, I didn’t make it past the first interview. It was one of the first interviews I’d had in years. I have since learned to leave my geographic situation out of the picture.
