So I am most likely going to lose my job at the end of this year because my company can no longer afford to pay me. What is the process and requirement for claiming unemployment benefits, assuming I am unable to find similar work by then?
Google will probably be more helpful than this forum.
US or Canada?
how did you find out that your company cant afford you. i dont have this info about my company.
USA. Also there is a possibility that my employer will keep me part-time (10-15 hrs/week) instead of completely getting rid of me. How does that affect my eligibility?
It’s mandated on a state-by-state basis.

Ususally, you will have to deduct your earnings from the amount paid out to you from unemployment. So, usually you get half your pay through unemployment compensation. Let’s say you end up with a $500/wk check and your part time unemplyment gives you $400 a week. Your check from the from unemployment office would be only $100. However, you really need to check your state’s rules on collecting. If you are simply reduced to part time, you may not be eligible to collect any unemployment comp.
