Pension - anyone here worked for a pension plan and if so, did were you able to move up if you started entry level? Was CAIA useful to get foot in the door or even on the job, or was it more hands on learning?
Hedge Fund - I’m moving away from hedge fund admin to hopefully do HF operations, to gain full scale exposure, maybe eventually go into due diligence. Any Canadian hedgers out there? If so, what’s it like? If not Canadian, any who’s done both admin and ops, and can tell me some differences. I knew a couple guys who did ops but were actually admins 80% of time.
I’ve been told to try to get into a PE firm, but I don’t have an MBA or CFA.
