Guys, What do u think about Jos A Bank suits ? Are they legit ? Till now I have been buying the Calvin Klein’s and Kenneth Cole suits from Macys. How does Jos A Bank compare to those in terms of quality and perception?
Just wait until Brooks does their 4th of Jewlie sale. Probably snap up two suits for <2000.
2 for $2000 is above my budget.Jos is having a Buy 1 , Get 1 sale. I can get 2 for 550 - 600. How does Jos compare with the CK’s and KennetchColes I have been buying from Macys ??
On another note, who has good trousers .I have always bought Express.
i have a couple of their suits, and their just fine for what i need them for. i dont have any complaints so far
I heard you can get 3 for 1 at jos a banks if you catch the right sale. Brooks brothers does 40% off occassionally - and department stores (younkers and dillards in my area) sometimes have crazy deals.
I have a suit from Jos that I bought when I was right out of school and couldn’t afford anything baller. It definitely gets the job done just fine. The place I work now is a t-shirt and jeans office with most of my “meetings” taking place over the phone so I rarely wear a suit anymore (gotta love Cali). If I were working at some baller firm somewhere that required a suit, I’d probably shoot higher than Jos, but realistically, Jos is good enough.
THey are fine for everyday stuff. You probably want an upper end one from BB or somewhere for intereviews, client facing stuff. But the Jos A Banks ones hold up well and you can outfit youself pretty cheaply. They have great ties too. They have a 50% off sale on everything except shoes the Tuesday before Fathers Day and the Tuesday before Christmas.
I’ll get hung out to dry, but Marshalls and TJMaxx have some really good deals on pants. I usually can’t find them in my sizes, so I end up altering them, but even after alterations, I don’t drop a lot of money on them. Oh, and my wife used to be the store manager of a very high end retailer (only had stores in the midwest) and would always recommend buying stuff at Marshalls and the Maxx. Oh, and Ross’ is pretty good too. Too bad they’re not around where we are.

Here’s how I roll: Brooks Brothers shirts & ties Polo/Lacoste ‘polo’ style shirts Hanes under tee’s Express mostly for ‘fancy’ t-shirts, besides nike stuff TJ Maxx miscellaneous for dress pants (besides a few pairs of BB pants) Suits: mostly mid-range (CK, Ralph Lauren, etc…) on clearance at Younkers Johnston Murphy for dress shoes (Allen Edmonds once I get my paper up). Adidas shoes to run in, Nikes to stunt in.
I just bought a pair of these for dress: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mercanti+fiorentini+men’s+5292+leather+oxford?prodId=198194&category=dsw4cat70004 and a pair of these because they’re awesome: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/aston+grey+wilshire+suede+driving+moc?prodId=204528&category=cat20238&brand= I’m addicted to Guess? jeans.
