wow. so much love…
AF should be called “analyst family” since we are all one big happy loving accepting family. What is funny is that 11 months ago…I didn’t even know what a hedge fund was…seriously.
Rohu – why did you wimp out by editing out your comment about numi in your last post.
I just think he doesn’t want to get involved in this whole post and waste as much time as I did on it…a wise decision.

I think I lost about 6+ hours of productive study/work time on this thread…and I will probably pay attention to it and lose a few more…sigh.
I’m still here for another 45 minutes if someone feels like saying something ignorant. Bostonkev tried but failed.
Did I fail to say something ignorant?! Is that a complement?! ZOMG! Now you are just being mean and sucking more productive hours out of my day.
I’m pretty sure you’ll figure out something ignorant to say once Beavis, Butthead, and dankeshane get back and resume the mental defective parade. In the meantime I’m multitasking to the max like the state school grad that I am.
To aid in your multitasking and flamewar excellence…you can download this plug-in that auto-reloads the page at specified intervals…assuming you have Firefox. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/115
chuckle…you’re quick gouman. but i won’t bite unless the bait is juicier…
He probably has that auto-reloader…
rohufish, if you’ve got something so profound to say, go ahead and say it
Oh, my nemesis is back… numi, let’s not fight anymore…I have lost too much time and you probably have too.
profound? nope. nothing profound here.

rohufish Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > chuckle…you’re quick gouman. > > but i won’t bite unless the bait is juicier… Then numi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > rohufish, if you’ve got something so profound to > say, go ahead and say it Well, Rohu, man up…muhahahahaha…muhahahahah!!
Disagree. It only takes me 30 seconds to 2 minutes to refresh, read new posts, and reply to anyone who’s being stupid. Even if I do that 50 times a day it’s only 25-100 minutes of my time which would’ve otherwise been spent checking personal email or sitting on the can.
ok, alls i got to say is: bostonkev - people that lack of brand name pedigree can make it big, but those 6 hours you just spent mean 6 fewer hours of bigtime for you, mate. stuff that little wound about pedigree with sawdust, so even if people poke it, it don’t feel a thing. numi - i see in you many of my classmates, and myself even, from a few years ago. well, my friend, as a pakistani classmate of mine at a famous school on the east coast used to say: “even the queen wipes her own sh!t”. howz that for profound, eh? chew on it, its good fer the teeth…
This thread got way too long and I just skimmed it so forgive me if this was already brought up… … but what about LTCM? Ivy-educated PhD economists who pioneered “modern financial theory” who still lost a couple billion. Not that state school-educated HF managers don’t blow up or anything…just an interesting point to make. I always wondered how FoF’s decided on whom to invest in - now I know! I went to a conference at JP Morgan a couple weeks ago and skimmed the bios of the speakers. I would say at least half of the PMs there (from JPM) were from state schools or non-Ivy private schools. So I guess there’s hope…
