I’m going nuts with this exam… It’s amazing the variability of results.

Schweser Mock 4: 34 AM and 44 PM, total 78 (65%)

Even though I’m near the threshold and I’ll have a lot of time during this weeks, the way I score really makes me feel insecure… For instance, in the AM session there were 3 Equity item sets, and I scored 6/6 0/6 and 5/6.

My concern is the following: I see that is CRUCIAL to master FRA, Equity and Corporate Finance, which I think I almost do because I have above 65% pretty consistently. I know I should spend a lot of time understanding Quants, focusing more on Econ, or memorizing Derivatives stuff… But then I think that I could be better off mastering the big areas even more.

What do you guys think? Also, insights on similarity between Schweser and the real one? On level 1 I think it was easier than Schweser mocks…

I agree that I have to do well on FRA & Equity to have any hope of passing. I was thinking of focusing more on Fixed Income than Corporate Finance - FI is 10-20% while CF is 5-15%. Plus, bond valuations have been front and center in the financial news for more than a year. I guess, we better know both!!! :slight_smile:

Based on historical weights, Im expecting both CF and FI to be 10%. CF is the easiest section in the curriculum and FI is among the most difficult. Id think your time is better spend on mastering Corp if you’re already pretty good in both.

Not sure if this was addressed before but is it possible to pring the Mock Exam from CFAI website? Perhaps I’m losing it but I don’t see that option.

Yea I am losing it. I was looking at the online test assesments. I see now there’s a separate exan that is available for PDF.

how is everyone doing on previous years CFAI tests? i was doing well on schweser but am getting crushed by CFAI

A couple of things to add to this.

The CFAI don’t have past mocks on their website due to syllabus changes. For example the whole of fixed income has been rewritten in 2015.

Also the CFAI mocks are produced by the syllabus team rather than the exam writing team although I beleive they do use some past exam questions.

Has anyone else sat for the Kaplan Live Mock Exam? The average score on their site is in the mid 50’s. I know these are self reported scores so there may be some statistical impact there. Does that seem too low to anyone else?

i’m sitting for the kaplan live mock this upcoming saturday. i took it last year for L1 and remember it being pretty difficult

Only point I would make is that they made alot of changes to FI for this year. I have been advised that CFAI tends to overweight the sections that have been revised the most. They like to test the new materials. Just something to think about.

Schweser 1 = 63%

Schweser 2 = 71%

Schweser 3 = 71%

2010 CFAI = 66%

2012 CFAI = 62%

confidence started falling with the CFAI exams…although i have seen some erroneous material in there. looking for feedback…starting to get anxous and not feeling like i’m making a whole lot of progress

i remember last year for L1 progress came after my 5th mock exam - seemed to be a threshold. i’m planning on taking 2 more schwesers and 2013 - 2015 CFAI

Did anyone else find the Schewser 3 PM version extremely easy compared to all of the other exams? I suppose I’m not complaining, but I can’t imagine that it’s indiciative what-so-ever of what to expect on the exam.

I finished with an 88%, but my CFAI AM portion was a 67%
